Elektra KB
Elektra KB is a Latin American futurist artist based in Brooklyn and Berlin. Their multidisciplinary practice—spanning textiles, video, installation, and technology—explores speculative feminism, mythology, and alternative worlds through a decolonial, "crip" lens.
Rooted in personal experiences of disability, KB’s work centers on The Cathara Autonomous Territory, a fictional utopia used to examine themes like power, migration, illness, healing, and gender violence. They repurpose protest signs and everyday objects, merging play, Luddism, and therapeutic intent to transform spaces marked by trauma.
Their art—shown at institutions like The Brooklyn Museum, MoMA Warsaw, and Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá—blends activism, political theory, and myth across mediums. Their work is part of major public collections and has been featured in Artforum, The Guardian, Hyperallergic, and The New York Times.
