Stacy Mehrfar

Stacy Arezou Mehrfar is an Iranian-American artist living and working in New York City. Mehrfar's photographs, video installations, and photobooks explore the dynamics of human and ecological communities. She is a 2022 Silver List nominee and has received the Joseph Robert Foundation Grant, the Puffin Foundation Grant, and the Australian Artist Grant. Stacy has participated in artist residencies at Interlude and I-Park Foundation, and she is a 2024 resident studio artist at The Clemente, NYC. Mehrfar is faculty at ICP, SVA, and PhotoPhlo. Arezou, her middle name, means wish in Farsi.


The Moon Belongs to Everyone reflects on immigration by visualizing the physical and emotional implications of reimagining home, belonging, and community. The photographs in the series, made in Australia and New York State, approach scale and perspective to interrogate our perceptions of borders and identity.
